I was in a bit of a fantasy mood this afternoon so I thought I would post some of my fantasy locomotives. :)
    Nothing is prototype here.

I think someone here painted up the fictional locomotives from the movie Unstoppable. Would be nice to see those again.

The loco in the last shot nearly looks real.

While I didn't get any good photos, I did AWVR 1206 for a friend of mine. It was a fun project, and it tempts me to do one of my own...

thomas, you have ALMOST all the Joliet railroads. I notice you even have a "switcher" for the old USS mill !!! Don't forget NYC, PC, CRI&P, and MILW !!! I think IT also came to Joliet, but can't find any hard proof. I believe they crossed the canal where I-80 exists now.
PS- You wouldn't believe what "The J" yard looks like now !!!

Well the last time I was there in 2013 it was full of CN locos, not an old J loco anywhere. At least that was the view over the Jackson st bridge. :-(

Love it, just got to love it. As do I! Salute.

In the real world of things I would of liked to seen the SPSF merger go through. Then add to the mix the D&RGW and W&P and I would of been a happy camper.

Not crazy about and you'll never find BNSF operating over my layout.

I used to say the exact same thing about U.P. back before all the mergers, but I finally gave in. :) ups21.jpg

UP is a given as in you'll always find them operating over my layouts. Besides I'm operating primarily in the transitional years from steam to diesel and a few years beyond. I can't see being stuck to one era.
