We need to remember what a "a business advocacy group", is and what they do. They are cheerleaders for business. Reporting negatives is not something they would want happening. Boiled down to simplest terms, their job is 'hey! Look at us! Rah, rah, go team go'.

I am, or should I say was, (being now disabled/retired), an entrepeneur. I started four successful, (albeit small), businesses. Plus bought a fifth, an existing small company. Even if you are top management, there can be a big step from that point, to owner. You've gotta actually wear those shoes, to know it.

I hear ya... Until this year, I spent the last three working pretty much non-stop... Seven days a week, 9 to 7 minimum, 8 to midnight max (often)... Weekends, holidays... No vacation, no nothing. I started getting migraines constantly. I kept on having ulcer attacks. I finally fell apart one month, where I had to go to urgent care twice, for a combination of bad flu, stomach ulcers and migraines. My hearing was so sensitive from migraines, that I had to have ear plugs in my ears all the time. That was it... I decided to stop making some of the most involved, time consuming products. I have lost a considerable amount of money doing so, but I had no choice.

But yes... Being one of the evil rich business owners is great... Flying around in my private jet, dating super models. It's a grand life. :)

I don't think anyone in this thread, or in this country would call the average business owner evil.

I only say that there are a lot fewer small business owners in this country than the average political speech would have you believe and they've never been as fundamental to the success of this country as those same political speeches would have you believe. Again, nothing against small business owners. Nor do I want to make it seem as if that path is an easy one. I just want to see the myth of the US as being some bastion of small business shown for what it is.

Meanwhile, in the rest of the world, a model railroader goes to the local hobby shop to buy some Peco flex track and the hobby shop owner asks "How many boxes do you want?"
