Is anyone here familiar with Corgi Toys? While digging through some boxes from my youth, I just found a truck that has me wondering. Appears too large for HO. But smaller than O scale. Could it be useable as S? Is there information somewhere on the 'Net about this manufacturer? Older items? (About 40 years ago?)

I would guess it could be S. I saw some on the web yesterday, will have to dig and see if I can find it again. Seems to me that there is a web site for Corgi. I have an old Corgi truck and trailer, should get it out and take a picture of it and post it.

Corgi have (and still do) made things in lots of scales, currently 1/50th and 1/64th are popular with them, but they have items in 1/76th and I believe 1/43rd as well.

They are one of the leading die-cast vehicle manufacturers over here, their website is here:

There are a few very cool US outline models, including a GM fishbowl bus and a PCC car.

    Boxcab,

Unless you are really obsessive about scale things, you could always compare the vehicles you found against some railcars and know scale vehicles. If they match closely enough and you like how they look in a scene, just use them. I intend to follow the close enough/looks good to me approach. Corgi brings back memories from when my brother and I were kids. We loved the diecast toys from the UK...Corgi and Matchbox were our favorites.

    Hi All:
I have several Corgi cars in my growing fleet. Nice little units. Just got two Shinsei "Mini-Power" trucks at a Virginia Train Collectors meet. These are cab over units from the 60's i'm guessing. One's a "Shell" tanker and the other is a refer. Both have about a 15' container and the cabs are about 8' wide. Cab tilts to show the motor undernearth. It's hard to find period trucks.

    Regards,
    Ted

My guess is the truck I have is 1/64th. The link Martyn provided lists 1/50, 1/64, 1/72, etc. Seems too small for 1/50. And way too large for 1/72nd. I couldn't find any specific reference, as the item is about 40-45 years old now.

They do have a nice web site!
