During my down time on the Boston Mountains Sub Division layout I'm going to draw plans for a DCC HO layout. It will go on top of the N scale U shaped overhead valence, 16 inches wide and about 28 feet long.

Joe I think the Dome isn't square....

I think it is over the entrance area to the building....

It only cuts back into the roof so far. I'll work on it some and we can go from there.

You are right Sumner, it is over the main entrance. The photo you posted shows a better view than the one I have. Thank you for noticing!!! I'm sure what you come up with will be great. I appreciate your help.

Do you have other photos of the depot?

Sumner, It's ok to post your photos on this thread since we are going to use them for reference only and not trying to sell them.

The dome is printing as I write this. Almost 6 hour print. I'll see how it comes out before designing the top and the section under it with the arches,

The time era for layout is 1920's and will have a time saver configuration in the middle section Ft Scott with a turntable will be to the left end and another town with a Wye to the right end yet to be named. The yard in Ft. Scott will have to be reduced a little bit.

I had help from three guys on the Frisco website with drawings of track schematics and depot floor plans. Thank you Chris, Karl and Keith.

Thank you Sumner for photos, 3D printing dome and other pieces for the Ft. Scott Depot.

    Print finished about 11 pm.

You might want to do a little sanding or filling possibly. I printed on 'Standard Quality' vs. two steps up on 'Super Quality' which would of taken about 11 hours vs. 5 hours. There is not fine detail on this part so thought it wasn't necessary. Also this is a larger HO size object vs. N scale. I still have to make the very top detail and will probably move up to a higher quality for it as it is smaller/finer. Not sure what I'll use for the part of the building under the dome where the arches are.

Joe I'll wait and send this when I have the other parts finished,

Look at these and see it you want changes before I combine them into the tower section below the dome....

They will clean up better. I just wanted to see how the section looked under the dome. None of the pictures I have are good enough to see detail around the arches. The building appears to be brick below this area but not sure what this area is or what the arches are made of. Making them in stone or brick would be a lot of work time wise that I don't have. You could also maybe buy sheets of that material and face what you see here. I'm not knowledgeable on what is available to do that but bet you are.

If this area is ok then I'll move onto the top of the dome. This is going to be a large structure in HO after what I've become accustom to in N scale,

They are perfect Sumner!!!! Thank you for your help.

I believe the depot is constructed with bricks so I will purchase some brick styrene from local hobby store to cover the arches and to build the rest of depot.

On to the top of the dome detail unless you see something that needs to be changed. Still needs some final cleanup (I'll leave that to you ;))

Looks fantastic Sumner!!! Thank you for printing them. Do you still have my address? Looks like we are going to be in our apartment till at least December 5th, we are more or less camping out. Everything is in storage except the bare necessities.

Got the top done. There is a very small hole centered in the top of it. If you want to put a flagpole there like in the pictures drill it out to the appropriate size otherwise fill the hole. I'll Send 3 of the tops incase one gets screwed up. I put a small base (.040 thick) on the bottom of the top as it looks like the top sits slightly higher than the top of the dome in the pictures. Sand it down if you want it to sit lower.

    Hey Joe,

I see you are putting in a turntable, I have pieces of one, you are welcome to them. I also found some more documentation on the Dynamis ProBox I need to give you. Let’s meet up soon and I will pass it on.
