Had a job at home to do today, replacing the sink and laundry drain pipes. Original copper piping started leaking, so I replaced it with PVC today, lots of corners and pieces and alignments. Fun....ish.

So this morning early I did get some control switch wiring done.

A couple of just for fun shots,
    PIC_0022.JPG PIC_0023.JPG

Then ran a couple of trains!

No pictures to post for updates, just a word or two. Did get the power feeders fed up to the tracks from the power buss, and upon testing I had a short circuit. Uggh. Spent the last few mornings and occasional evenings hunting for it. Finally found it this morning. Yay! The tiniest bit of leftover copper hung up across the cut on a PCB tie! I don't know how many times I looked at that one, but it escaped notice. I ended up desoldering all the feeders on one side of the new rails, and used a jumper to hook up one at a time until the short indicator lit up for that block. "Fun."

So now what is left is connecting all the control switches and then adjusting the points and test running. Maybe a picture or video post by next weekend!

Congrats on finding the short, electrical gremlins are a nightmare. Looking forward to seeing your next video.

I wonder if one of those circuit tracers that you can buy to find the circuit breaker that safeguards a given outlet or light would work in these situations?

They've gotten pretty reasonable in cost these days...

    Anybody tried one?

Never tried one of those, interesting thought though...

But there is a Christmas Moose hanging around the NPBH this year! Our family has a Christmas reindeer gag carrying on every year, and last year someone left this for me as if it was a reindeer! Hmmm. Funny, and a clue as to which kid may be the culprit.....

And a bit of progress on linkages and such....

There is a fellow a block away from me who has had such an vehicle ornament on his pickup, these past couple of years. Will see if he does it again.

Moose checked with Mrs Moose and it is as Moose suspected, that's Mrs Moose's old friend, Mike da moose.. Those kinda pranks were why he was "asked" to move to Montana...

Been making progress in tiny little bits, gluing down switches and track and fine tuning switch points,
    PIC_0442.JPG
This one needs a little 'tweak,'
    PIC_0443.JPG
And this one needs a different connector rod, and then tweaked.

You have reached the Zen of model railroading when that happens. :)

Yup! Absolutely! That is what we strive for, running trains in a scene we enjoy!

And so many others are getting their layouts to the place , too!

So last night I spent a bit moving the trains back into the yard, so this morning I was able to spend some time breaking them up to try out all the new yard trackage. Both fun and relaxing! Just a few derailments and I definitely need to be doing some wheel cleaning, but fun and gratifying that all the switched are functioning as wanted!

Thanks for all the encouragement and support here!
