I also remain amazed at the advanced projects accomplished by the Civil Engineers in the same era, including the B&Os Magnolia Cutoff, the WM's and MILW's western extensions, the Santa Fe's Belen Cutoff, the entire Clinchfield and the DL&W's Cutoffs just to name a few.
