To quote many other participants, "I can tell by the shadows that this lies in the southern hemisphere, taken near sunset" etc, etc,. Charlie, these are all fascinating. Every time I open a new one it has already been solved. Good stuff. It's amazing to me that such vast yards still exist. I thought they all went out with the demise of steam, but then you know I'm prejudiced that way. :tb-biggrin: Congratulations, Scott!
I just wanna know how the flippin' flyin' you get these locations.........:tb-err::tb-err::tb-err::tb-err:
Well, let me see: It's on planet earth. It's sunny out. There are tracks. There are trees. I think it's either in the northern or southern hemispheres, but not in Antarctica or out in the middle of the ocean somewhere. This one is tricky!
real local ? I don't see the compass in the upper right so I'm incline to believe that this is just a blurry picture of someones N-track module.
Charlie, this wouldn't be one of the seldom used lines up in your neighborhood, would it? The high sand content around the roadbed, shape of the scrub, color and texture of the field grass, and dead oak(?) leaves at far right are reminiscent of northern NH and ME, and southern NB in late fall.
Near the Platte River in Nebraska? (I want to see Charlie rhyme something with "Platte River in Nebraska." Also, the line looks like it *could* be there.
This is obviously the old Lone Wolf, Lugert and Luling Line behind Flores Country Store near Dime Box, Texas. Back in 1955 we listened to Willie Nelson play there on Friday afternoon after work and watch the trains go by as we sometimes did the Texas two-step. At least it looks like those tracks late on Friday around sundown. Is that close?
