Here's another one, hopefully it will keep you occupied for some time :)

I can't say if this is still in use, but googleling the address gets a RR company, doing the same and looking in images gets another - one is active and the other a fallen/overtaken.

The winner will be the one to name the place, and the active RR company mentioned above - naming the other is "just" additional information :)

Now I have taken down the two other contests, so the rest of you can concentrate on this one :)

    Too early yet for hints...

It's definitely not a private club. Seems to have plenty of members these days! :)

If it's the last hint that bothers you, then let me help a little. There is states beginning with an A, therefore this town doesn't begin with an A. There is no states beginning with a B. Then it could be B...ville and so on. Still confused? Or just somewhere in the middle :):):):)

Well, we've already done Bensenville, Illinois. There are a lot of "-ville" towns in this nation. Yikes.

Yes there is a lot of -ville towns, but only remaining first letters is B, E, J, Q, X, Y and Z. So let me narrow this furter by taking out the last four.
With this last hint, the count hints is now five, it should be possible to get it quite fast now.

Did I do my counting right??? ;-) ;-)

Argh. I was just starting to look at Iowa!

There sure are a lot of "-ville" named places in this country! Just a list of those B,E,J is long enough!

Well done David. Did you need any of the hints to find it :)

#Boxcab there is a lot of "-ville" named places, but when it's put together with my other hints, I didn't think it was so bad :)

BTW- Are we absolutely certain it is former Rock Island? There is reported to be a two stall metal engine house in Estherville, but that it is ex-Minneapolis & St. Louis RY. Currently in use by a business, from what I understand. If so, associated RR lineage should be M&St.L=> C&NW=> UPRR. But when the building went to private hands, I do not know.

Confirmed. It is not Rock Island. It was indeed the M&St.L engine house. Am hoping to find out a more, possibly later today.

During my research on this I found a picture on the internet saying Rock Island RR engine house in Estherville, so that's what I based it upon. These days UP have address there.

Will see what this fellow can send. He is in Iowa, and a BIG time M&St.L history person. At least some of the M&St.L engine houses had nice big letters on them. Perhaps this one did? I have a blueprint scan of the RI yard there, but it will not enlarge in any quality to even read information. I am not certain exactly how the RI and Louie intermixed in that town. I have heard there is a fellow who was an M&St.L agent there, still alive, but how to get ahold of him?
