Does anyone know if any of the gp15's have painted into the heritage scheme? Any photos online? Thanks Dan
Lo and behold i spotted unit 1487 painted in Heritage 1 moving from the BNSF yard to ex Rio Grande North Yard(or vice versa) today at about 2:30 pm... I didn't have the digital camera with me, so I couldn't even get a moving shot. First BN GP15 i've seen in Denver; i've seen UP ones though.
Looks like I have a photo of a BNSF GP15 listed on my site. You can check it out at: http://www.trainweb.org/bnsfmpa Hope this helps. Matthew
I didn't realize it wasn't in heritage. I just looked at my roster and saw one, so I thought I would help by posting it.
WOW, that would be a cool locomotive to see in H I. It would be like a mini tunnel motor. he he he ------------------ Craig Martyn Best Looking Models Around Custom detailing AND N scale detail parts. BLMA N Scale Detail Parts
That's exactly what it looks like! Tomorrow is saturday so maybe i'll try to get a photo of that unit- if it's still in town...
I'm sorry but i wasn't able to get out saturday or sunday so no pics... I'm not sure if it's still in town but if it is i'll see what i can do...
You shoulda seen the GP15-1s back in the day, when a quartet of these babies were used to lug Train 730 north out of Ft. Smith up the Boston Mtn. grade. Frisco (and later BN) used them a lot in ex-Frisco territory, and I saw a lot of them in Hugo, OK on the locals & switchers. These were used for secondary & branch line power- one was used on the point of the last Quanah, Acme & Pacific train in 1981. ------------------ Southeast....Southwest.. Ship IT on the Frisco!
