I just happened to be a Knoche Tower yesterday and a brand spankin new switch engine caught my eye. The "Green goat" has j arrived at the KCS. It is number 1869 sporting the KCS lettering and grey paint. It came in off the ICE, I can almost asure you it will do some "photo ops" and then head south. Also just out from the KCS, they are begining to reprogram all of the AC4400 series (2000-2049) to be able to link up with BNSF locos on coal loads. They will have a green decal on the nose, just below the reflective yellow belt strip I belive it will be on the left side.
I have seen some pics of a "generic" Green Goat in some magazines.... nothing lately, though... Harold
I still don't have the camera ready to hook up to the computer yet. I have been in Heavener OK. for the last 30 days. To date I have seen 5 Green goats goin' south. I'll post asap, as soon as I get my computer talking to my camera, and as a added perk I'll hopefully be able to send pics of our new SD70ace arrivals that should be here any day now. Look for a big anouncement in a couple of weeks from the KCS., I haven't got a clue what this will be about.
Ok apparently I'm doing something wrong. Is there some web page I have to send pics or is there some other way. I'll be in heavener OK for another 30 days, so it may be awhile before I can get back to you guys. Later, Foamer
Foamer- Do you have a web site where you can upload, then link the pictures? If not, try this: Go to www.railimages.com and click on "Request Account." They'll get back to you with ID and password info. It's a free service. Although donations for it's upkeep are gladly accepted. Boxcab E50
I saw that green goat a few months ago at Nashua, MN, on a 100+ car grain unit train on CP Rail's line to Moose Jaw, SK. (Where it intersects with their Canadian mainline.) Maybe they were testing the locomotive?
