The first sample was squirted with Tamiya paint out of a spray can so the paint is as thick as some of the detail. The door stoppers are not that bad underneath all the paint. I shall break out one of the airbrushes for the next batch. Most of the fettling is to get the fit of the parts right and to arrange the parts on the machine so as to maximize the number built at one time without getting problems from having them too close together. It takes around 12 hours to build 5 of these and there's about 5 hours left to go on run number 2. So far so good.
The Gunderson 50 foot high cube boxcars are ready. We are still working on the decals; they will be sold as a separate item. Other projects - the 35 foot insulated tank car is progressing. I hope to have the etched parts designed and off for prototyping soon. Not a lot of progress on the airslide and the 60 foot flatcar - the corporate customers have been keeping me very busy. As for the Green Goat - I guess we will have to wait and see how suitable the MT GP9 chassis is.
Thanks Mark, I guess I will wait for the decals. There is no sence in ordering the cars, and order the decals later. If the MTL chassis doesn't work, then you could always use AZL's GP9.
