I'm a transplant from the middle of nowhere in Western Pennsylvania (NOT Pittsburgh!). I have been in NC since 1989 after I was discharged from the Navy. I love the historical research and have been looking at the Buffalo, Rochester, & Pittsburgh Ry. (absorbed by B&O in 1930) for many years. Someday I hope to model the Dubois, PA area. Recently, I have been researching the ACL Yonge's Island branch and thinking of building a small (2x12+stagging) switching layout. Don
Hi Don, welcome. Glad you're on board. Both of these concepts would make nice operational layouts, especially the Yonge's Island branch. Please share your progress. BTW, what scale are you considering?
Welcome Don! You probably own Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railway by Paul Pietrak (1st Ed. 1979, 2nd Ed. 1992), but if not, you'd enjoy it. I think Morning Sun has published a number of color BR&P books too.
Welcome to TrainBoard, Don! I have a long time model RR friend in Michigan, who is a huge BR&P fan. He has done scads of researching. Developed a great model RR plan.
Hardcoaler, Paul"s wonderful book is what got me started on the BR&P. That and my grandfathers stories. I was able to purchase a brass B&O KK-4b (former BR&P) 2-8-8-2 from Paul several years ago. I am lucky enough to have 2 of the 50 made. I have all of the Morning Sun books by Mike Zollitsch.
BoxcabE50, If his name is Brian, I have been lucky enough to know him for a long time. He is an amazing historian and modeler.
