Shortly after I moved here in 1975 I heard a commercial for Orange Blossom Hobbies about LGB trains. I thought it would be nice to have the basic train to run around a Christmas tree. That has taken over about half of my living room. I switched over to DCC using mostly Digitrax modules when it became available on LGB locomotives. I'm currently interested in using Arduino's to control turnouts and signals. I would like to replace ageing Digitrax DS64 stationary decoders for the turnouts and an RR-Cirkits TC-64 tower controller for the signals. The TC-64 is my major gripe. It is one central unit and uses flat cable to control the signals which still need resistors for the LEDs. Small Arduino Nanos scattered around the layout should be able to do that. I'm running it using JMRI on a Linux system with a fair amount of my custom code.
