Hi all my intro, I model in OO scale a fictitious land of industry and landscape. A relatively small layout at 12 x 3 feet, with a 9 foot shelf extension at 90 degrees to the main layout, but containing a wealth of sidings and details. I am interested in electronics and automation so after having a Sprog 3 for several years I am now experimenting with DCC++ Ex. Using two motor shields to separate track power and CDU power (20 turnouts all controlled by DCC Concepts ADS sx units) and keep the Sprog 3 for programming. Use JMRI and my own Jython scripts to control the running sequences. Have up-to 6 loco’s running at any one time using Kadee couplers and neodymium magnets buried in the ballast to automate uncoupling. Peco LK-55 TT controlled by DCC, sensors on the exit tracks and JMRI. Have 40 track sensors under the track (Hall Effect) feeding JMRI. Suddenly realised this may all be a big mistake as there is now nothing left for me to do… Joking aside hope to learn and engage within this forum. Will post some pictures soon… Cheers John.
