Just thought I'd stop by and see what the rest of the world was up to. I don't have a great interest in railroading outside the US, but I know WC Ltd. operates a rail system "down under". For the life of me, I don't know the name of the railroad, but if it's run anything like the WC here in the US, it's a fine Railway! Well, this yank has got to hit the hay. ------------------ RAILROADING-TO-THE-MAX! Brent Tidaback
WC is also doing a great job running our freight trains here in the UK. (With EMD's) (See european forum for pics.) ------------------ Alan www.ac-models.com http://Andersley.homestead.com http://galleryusarail_tehcaj.homestead.com http://eurogallery.homestead.com
That would be G'day!, Brent WC have the lease to run what was Australian National's, nee Tasmanian Govt Railways, 3'6" operations in Tasmania. Apparently they have turned the system around and now runs trains! They are also the majority shareholder of Tranzrail, which was New Zealand Govt Railways. Gary Gary. ------------------ Gary A. Great, not only I'm a "stupid foamer" to the real railroaders, but know I'm a "stupid yank" to boot! I can't win this week! OK, here it goes...G'day! ------------------ RAILROADING-TO-THE-MAX! Brent Tidaback
No need to be so down on yourself. Anyone could have fallen for Charlie's prank And it could have bee a simple typo... that works for me at times... hehe Gary.
WC Ltd trade in South Australia as Australian Southern Railroad. Running mainly frieght operations they are also in the hook and pull market providing locomotive power to customer's rakes of wagons. I have previously discussed my internet site detailing the ASR operations on the Eyre Peninsula in other topics however if you wish to have a look it can be found at: http://www.geocities.com/ameph/
A couple of years ago our Rotary club in Wahpeton, ND USA hosted a Group Study Exchange team from Australia. One of the blokes, I believe his name was Brian, was interested in railroading. Are you out there somewhere Brian?
Hi there guy's. I'm from Sydney and a real steam buff. I collect rail ties and newspaper clipping from any country that have anything to do with rail. I was wondering is there anyone out there who may be able to help me. Maybe I maybe able to swap you something from Sydney's infamous CityRail. If so you can contact me on alimoo@excite.com
