Hello people! I have noticed that most of my cars have one of three different herald signs. I understand that "Employee Owned" started in 1972. What periods were the "Chicago System" and "Rail System" used? Thanks! Eric
I have been trying to find my information. No luck so far. Somewhere in my mess there is a sheet which shows the progression of heralds. You might try dropping a note to the C&NWHS. www.cnwhs.org
In 1891 the herald was designed. I believe system was used until 1957 when the herald began to say "railway." In 1972 employee owned began appearing and in 1982 system was once again in use. This information is from the C&NW Historical society web site.
