Hello all, I'm an old time modeler from the '60s (as a kid) and I'm returning to the hobby after around 20 years on hiatus. My oldest brother worked for ACL prior to the merger with SAL and I still have memories of the South Yard switch houses and that gorgeous Purple, Silver, and Yellow color scheme. For my new efforts, I've settled on HO (my sight isn't what it was in the '80s when I moved to N) and the Steam to Diesel switch over (40's to early 70's) in the ACL/SAL/SCL/L&N/CoG liveries with a focus on freight with some passenger service (just scored a pair of gorgeous older E7 A units from the LifeLike Proto2000 family) and am converting them to DCC. My other motive power currently consists of a pair of Jeeps in ACL Black/Yellow and an F7A/B pair in ACL Purple/Silver, and an Alco S2 in SCL's Black/Yellow livery. I'm planning on a few U-boats and a couple of RS3's before I start hitting the steam team. I also have a Norfolk Southern SW1200 in "River Street Rambler" colors that's mainly just a collectible. I'm very lucky that both my wife and my mother-in-law love the rails and are actively supporting and participating in the new venture.
Hi Tim, welcome home. I understand your switch to HO from N. I would have liked to switch to O if I didn't have so much tied up in N.
