Well it has come to my attention that a new street in our suburb has been named. I live in a area where all streets are named after American rivers. Well the new street is named Rio Grande Parade. As I model UP and Rio grande this is very tempting. Now if I could get every member to donate $100 each Imight just be able to raise enough cash lol.

I'm a little short right now Colonel. Been buying model rr support equipment. You all seem to have nice street addresses, much better than mine which is what they call a fire number followed by the two state road numbers. But I do love living in the country [IMG].

Colonel is there one in there for the Mississippi ? Just a hop and skip from me.

I don't think that they are. A nickle should get you a bunch of Canadian money. As someone who usually has both U.S. and Canadian money in my pocket, I can get a lot with a U.S. dollar and not much with Canadian. When I go to get my coffee every morning at Dunkin' Donuts, if I have American I can get it for 95 cents. If I only have Canadian I have to give them a Toonie ($2) to get a cup of coffee. Dane isn't far off of the truth! [IMG]

Paul, do you have a St. Croix Street? I live 2 blocks from the St. Croix River. It runs right through the center of the town I live in and seperates the U.S. from Canada.

Charlie

What? How can they do that? They are stiffing you in the vicinity of 40% commission on the exchange!
US$1 = Cdn$1.48
I know where I'd be dunkin' their donuts [IMG]

I'm stretching it a bit. I just mean that I have to come up with an original investment of $2 Canadian but less than $1 American to get a cup of coffee. The exchange rate usually remains between $1.45 to $1.50.

How 'bout I give you 2,000,000 Italian Lira that should = about one US dollar, that is untill 2pm then it will only be worth .67cents.

BTW I live right off Peddlers Road, wouldn't change it for anything.

Paul,
I don't know what you are complaining about. My place is on a corner, and one of the streets is named after a character from Robin Hood, - Alandale. The others were probably chosen by the standard method. A book of names, a blindfold and a pin.

Now about the money, ....... any loose change would be appreciated over here so we can go see those DRGW locomotives that remain before they all end up in that horrible yellow colour.

I was checking out the motive power at Burnham last week and saw sitting forlornly the last 2 GP30s to run here in Rio Grande colors... All the lights were gone and they were missing a few odds and ends. Too bad one of em couldn't have been donated to the Colorado Railroad Musueum. They have lots of old Rio Grande stuff- why not something from the later years?

Anyways i remember watching these units pulling their worth in tonnage not too long ago and it's kind of sad to see em sitting there awaiting their fate... [IMG]

Good Idea. It would have been great to see a Rio Grande GP30 alongside the F7s
