    What have you seen?

I'll start off with this odd mix of equipment. This was on an NS train northbound through Austell GA back in August 2004

That first series of photos is a small concrete batch plant. Never seen one move by train. Nice catch.

Here are a couple of not normal loads that I was involved with.

1st - LPG sausage moved from Gulf Oil refinery in Cincinnati, OH to Chevron El Paso waiting to be off loaded........

2nd - temporary rented boiler for use in the refinery. Came in from Dallas and has been reloaded for return trip.........

I should make an effort to find the originals of these old photos. This is underexposed, but shows a Peacekeeper ICBM downstage container, Cheyenne, WY.

Wrecked hopper atop a flat, Cheyenne, WY.

Another from Cheyenne. I was trackside a lot back then. 2004-2005 or so.

No prototype but the kids were having fun at rail camp many years ago. They called it a VW load.

    That's hilarious!

Here's an unusual load I found once. Westbound near Avon, MT:
DODX marking, probably US Navy nuclear reactor fuel.

Is that really a deer standing atop of a boxcar? Or is it a clever illusion?

Yes, a deer. It had been spooked by traffic on the bridge above and jumped on the top of the train. It broke its leg so had to be euthanized.

A replacement transformer being delivered to our local power plant after Hurricane Katrina. There's a spur going directly to the plant, but it has a wooden trestle that was deemed too light to support the load. So the transformer was offloaded five miles away and trucked to the plant.
