The location is Bescot Stadium station, it's not a difficult one to get to. We had about an hour to kill after the other guys got caught up in traffic, so we grabbed some sandwiches at a services & stopped in there.

Some quick directions, if you're heading North just after the M5 & M6 join, come off at the first intersection you get to & turn right, follow the road along, bear right where it splits, then make a right turn at some more traffic lights after going over a railway bridge. Down this road a way & you will see the signs for Bescot Stadium station, they're green & yellow "centro" signs not a BR arrow IIRC. There's a good sized station car park but it's not visible from the station so keep belongings in the car out of sight. Follow the path from the car park under the elavated motorway & you'll be on the station. There's a good commuter train service so usually a few folk around! If you're looking for freight then come on a weekday, it's a very good location for watching it.

One odd thing is that the station footbridge is home to two kinds of "spotters", the railfans stand at one end & Eddie Stobart fans the other as it's at motorway height!!! :D
