    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the prime mover Soyle found was a 251 out of a century right?

    not quite a Century, BC Rail #640 was a MLW M420W that gave it's heart so an Alco PA could live, and yes, it was a 251

    A couple of years ago, a local tv station did an undercover investigation of scrap dealers. The majority accepted metal clearly marked as being owned by the state [road signs, fire hydrants, etc] without asking any questions, nor notifying local law enforcement.

    I remember reading about a sting operation where railroad track was taken to the scrap metal dealers. Most dealers did not ask questions about the source of the track, when they purchased it.

    I'm not at all surprised. Scrap can be profitable. But it is a sad indictment of our society knowing life is this way today.
