With taxes done for most of us, another weekend comes closer, with hopes of new new projects started and old ones finished. It's time for weekend modeling plans!

Unfortunately, no modeling for me as I will be spending my weekend packing things up in card board boxes. Next week is my last week here in Newton New Jersey as I get ready for the next chapter in my life. I hope the move doesn't hold up progress to much on the layout. This is why I spent six weeks this past winter, organizing everything into plastic bins. The plan for when I get home, is to be able to find everything easier, so that I can get back on track faster. That is the theory anyway. Once home, the next thing to start planing for is Galesburg.

So how about you? Hopefully moving isn't in your plans. Maybe some track work or some wiring? Maybe some decoder work? Maybe scenery, or getting ready for the next show? Whatever is on your agenda, let us know and share it here. We'll all get together on Monday the 23rd and see how we all did.

    High Greens!

Wont get much modeling done this weekend unfortunately. Fishing trip tomorrow, and when I get home tonight I need to fix part of the fascia on one end of the house that partially blew off while I was away this week.

I did order some stuff this week that has been delivered, so I'll get to open up and tinker a little bit Sunday night.

Mmmmm Galesburg. The boys & I have to get to workin' on our new layout for the show. Rain is predicted for these parts, so that plan to start benchwork on a warmer spring day in the garage may have to wait.

Been workin on scenery in prep for the NMRA meet this July. Although it'll be rainy, I could use a break from basement dwelling. The C&EI meet is this Saturday in Watseka and I've really been wanting to check out the joint line after stopping at the island park in Momence on the way back from the 'burg last couple years. Sure would be a great opportunity...

Then again, there is a local show nearby on Saturday...

I dunno, so many plans - so little money. Probably just end up staying home again and doing more layout work.

I've got another solitary weekend in my man-cave while the ladies remain in Italy. Yesterday, I glued down a bunch of ballast behind the Mooseport scene, so that chore is done. The number 1 plan for the weekend is to cut the remaining cobblestone sheet to shape, paint and weather it, and glue it down. I need to get the interior and some additional lighting into the main mill building, and finish another non-descript structure. There are 4 other structures in various stages of completion, too, so I'll have my choice of projects on what promises to be a rainy couple of days.

I have another short section of street-running track to install, too. That's one of those "stretch goals" that I probably won't get to, but I might give it a start. From the first of this track I laid, I learned a lot of things not to do, so this part should be easier.

With what I've been reading about the shortage of Atlas track, I'll probably hustle down to the LHS and pick up a few pieces. I don't need them right now, but I'll want them in a month or two, and there's no harm in buying early to be safe.

I just received some 20 inch radius "sweepsticks". So my goal this weekend is to lay down some flextrack on one end of my layout. I hope to get one curve done. My work schedule this weekend does not allow time for more than that regarding my trains.

I have a few things to keep me busy this weekend. I am starting to make three 2 foot yard modules to go with my other T-Trak modules. I'm cutting and milling down some used 1"X 8" lumber for the frames. Tomorrow I go down to my towns museum to work on their layout. I am building a control drawer to house the throttle and on/off switches so the two elderly ladies who maintain the museum won't have to crawl under the layout to get it running.

No "modeling" but I will be working on the railroad at the Oklahoma Railway Museum. This is a run weekend for the Museum so I'll be out there as a flagman where our train crosses the city streets. The ORM has a couple of miles of track that we go back and forth on but the track crosses a few active city streets that do not have crossing lights or gates. So, someone has to flag each street to keep the cars and train safe.

    I'm honestly not sure.
AS usual, I'll be at the club tomorrow, but due to some bad planning on the part of the Fairgrounds, they will be checking for parking passes saturday due to the big "just between friends" sale and we're getting our passes...tonight. Well hopefully tonight anyway. So I'm going to be probably on call to hand out a pass to any of our members coming in tomorrow and if I am in the clubhouse, I may just run, because the fairgrounds will be crawling with families.

IF I have time to do any work it will be on the vineyard which I now haven't touched in a month or possibly on some layout planning for the back section of the club layout.

The west of the weekend had darn well better be used to get through a backlog of household chores. I might get a few minutes to dig through the scrap bin at Home Despot to see if there are any 1x3s longer than 48" and straight for use in my planned "scenic'd test track."
