Was it it just me, or did this week go by fast? Here we are on a Friday and its time for Weekend Modeling Plans.

My objectives are pretty simple, get ready for Galesburg. I first want to finish the Iowa Interstate GP38-2.

Not much left, just paint the handrails, clear coat and re assemble.

Work on my T-Trak module continues, I have the outer shell of the Roadkill Cafe done, I now need to paint the outside and trim work, then progress on the interior.

I also need to get my visual aids done for Saturday's seminar at Galesburg RR Days. Last but not least is working on Jess the Railfan Jeep. To make hearing the scanner more effective, I had purchased a 5" external speaker. I recently mounted this speaker on the windshield frame using the Jeeps footman loop. This is perfect as the speaker is out of the line of sight but can be heard inside and outside the Jeep. I routed the wire behind some trim and into the dash. I'll get a female phono jack at Radio Shack and install it in one of the button blanks on my dash. That will clean and finish that installation. With all of that and a birthday for Angela's daughter, it will be a busy weekend before the big one next weekend.

So how about you? Do you have any shows you plan on attending? Module or layout work? I can't be the only one with a railfan rig, anyone going to try and get some railfaning? What ever your plans, let us know what you want to get done this weekend. We'll all come back on Monday, June 18th and compare notes. Until then, be safe and have fun!

    High Greens!

I'm hoping to get started, at least, on the other section of street-running track. This is only a foot or so, a short siding serving one of the mill buildings. This will be a test of the different technique I plan to use to provide power to each rail section. The previous section had trouble with both power distribution and physical continuity, because soldering the rail sections from the top proved very difficult without getting solder in the channel of the girder rail. This time, I'll attach a feeder to each section from below, and not try to solder the sections to each other at all. This is Proto 87's "Electric Avenue" track, and it doesn't use rail joiners.

But, remember, it's going to be Fathers' Day. We're planning to celebrate with a lobster dinner. I really enjoy cooking the whole feast, and the weather is looking great for it.

I will be working on a double ended 8' yard for my clubs T-Trak layout. I layed it out with electrofrog switches while waiting for the insulfrog switches I ordered to arrive. Tomorrow I will begin on the other end.

Somewhere between the yardwork & celebration of our wedding anniversary (falls on the same day as Father's Day this year), I need to get the tracklaying crews busy.

Probably not too much once again. My Athearn GP7 frame should be in the mail today, so I might be able to start rebuilding one of my old GP7's tonight. I worked all week and got home at 3:30AM this morning, just got out of bed, so most of my weekend is already gone.

No updates here. The layout is still up until solid plans are in hand with funds to start anew. Ordered a reference book for detail projects and that's about it for me.
