Technically it will be in 30 minutes but I'm heading out the door soon and I don't know when I'll be at my computer again. No railroad stuff this weekend, I'm off to Columbus Ohio to cover an RC airplane meet for Flying Models magazine. It will be fun and busy and maybe I'll get some flying in myself.

What about you? What is going on for you this weekend? Shows? Maybe a little work on the layout before the Holiday season kicks in? Not too late to get some pictures track side either. Let us know what your railroad related goals are this weekend, pictures always a plus, and we'll come back Monday morning and see how we progressed.

    High Greens!

I have to work out of town this weekend. I leave tomorrow and will not be back until Sunday night. That pretty much shoots down my weekend modeling.

I hope to get to some woo woo woo this weekend. I've been really busy lately and could certainly use the stress relief that model railroading provides. If I do, I'm hoping to get to some boxcab stuff, maybe a little bit of weathering rolling stock, and possibly some more details for the cardstock models.

    Have a good weekend everyone!

My club, The Olde Newburgh Model Railroad Club will be at a small show in Port Jervis NY tomorrow (Saturday 10a to 3p). We will have our 20' X 20' HO modular layout there. Sunday I will have to continue cleaning up from the snowstorm last weekend.

I've got some chain-saw work to do myself this weekend. Not a big deal. One big branch came down in the "guest parking" area of our driveway, and when I take a more careful look I'll likely find some other stuff that I'd might as well get out of the way before the real snow hits us. We lost power from Sunday morning through Wednesday afternoon, so I lost a lot of train time.

I did get a lot of wood plank fence built by natural light after the power failed. Give me a handful of coffee stirrers, a utility knife and a bottle of glue, and I can be busy for hours, power or no power. Besides, I needed a low-tech job while drinking the beer. Wouldn't want it to get warm, would we? This fence will bound the scrapyard, so I'll be able to work on the ground surfacing. It's an excuse to scratch-build a small office for the yard, too.

I got the bicycles painted Wednesday night. It was the first "storm recovery" thing I did after the house warmed up a bit. They're glued in place. I want to take a few final pictures of Merchants Row under construction before I put it all together one last time and put it in place.

No running trains, no train shows, no railfanning...just work, work, work on layout construction. About time I got some of this done!

Packing the car tonight to drive to Syracuse in the morning. I have a table for both days next to my buddy who has two tables. Normaly I realy look forward to going to the shows but this year it is a little bittersweet. I am liquidating a collection of a deceased friend for his widdow. My next three shows will be mostly his collection. Still though, looking forward to seeing the "gang" I see at all the shows.

Supposed to be returning to work Saturday ( after 10 days off ). However I think I am going to be "ill" instead and take in a layout tour in the Hamilton Ontario area.

It has been a long while for me visiting this thread. It is nice to see that it is still going.

There has been a lot going on with work, kids, and my health that has limited my ability to visit the forum or do any modeling for the last year or so. I am hoping that I will have more time for modeling in the coming months.

Now onto the topic at hand.

My daughter is looking to play college volleyball so this is another college weekend for us. We may go see Lehigh play Colgate or West Chester University play Kutztown University. We have not seen a Division 1 or 2 game in person. It will depend on how much driving I feel like doing. On Sunday we will be attending an Open House at Delaware Valley College and meeting with the volleyball coach.

My son was supposed to go camping with his Boy Scout troop this weekend but it is doubtful now. He jammed one of his toes in his soccer game yesterday. The toe was swollen and painful last night. This morning the swelling is down and he is still having some pain. He is having some problems walking this morning. We will see how his doing when he gets home from school. If he does not go camping we will be working on completing a couple of merit badges. We could work on Traffic Safety and/or Railroading.

As far as modeling I am hoping to start clearing off the layout and workbench. If all goes well I may try to take a couple of photos. I also need to take inventory of my modeling supplies.

I completely forgot the train show down there was on this weekend... might have to try to talk the wife into taking the family for a ride (we live about 3hrs north from syracuse).

How far of a drive do you have?

I am going to get started laying track on my layout. Probably won't get much done though as I have to work both days this weekend.
