This will be the first weekend that I haven't had to work for a month. I am going to try to get something done on the A&LM layout this weekend. I would like to get some flextrack laid on the outer loop.

More switch work this weekend. I have three switches in a row so there are several short lengths of rail to be laid, at least the first switch is about done with exception of the n-scale size caboose industries ground throw I need to install.

Perhaps I will get to start laying rail on the main and the run-around. I am really looking forward to getting trains running, might have to plug my DC power control into a pair of feeders and switch some cars around.

All is not lost. On a whim, well sort of, I decided to fabricate a new coupler for my LGB 4 axle Motorized Tender. When I bought this tender, the loop part of the coupler that attaches to the locomotive was cut off and a standard hook coupler screwed in place. After striking out on trying to find an official replacement part, I decided to take matters into my own hand. The plan is to cut off the loop portion of an aristocraft loop/hook coupler (I have way to many of these) then attach the new "loop" section to the LGB Coupler where the loop was "cut off". I'll glue it in place and then screw it back onto my tender. As for drawbar strength, well, only time will tell.

This is the first weekend I've had off in months and what timing as the Great Train Expo is going on in Puyallup WA. So I'll be spending most of my day (and spare change) there. Also going to pick up the last few pieces of styrene I need so I can start a "little" project any of you with a seaport may be interested in.

I'm hoping to finish up the backdrop and lay track up to the end of the branch line.

Working on pouring my river and creek. Did the first last night and it looks fantastic. I'm using Park's Super Glaze, two-part resin from Lowe's and it is working great.

My plans this weekend were to find where I put things. Haven't done anything with the n-scale stuff in over a year and a half and I've done some construction in the garage/man cave since then. Found all that I own. N-scale locos that I need a friends help to get decoders working, t-trak modules; some done, some were done and for some reason I tore the track up and some that are bare.

Finding a way to store it where I can get to it and have it available is the next step.

    Wayne.
