Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Where ever you may be, welcome to that gateway to the weekend. It looks like we had a great weekend last weekend so let's continue that trend and see what we have planned.

Saturday: I really thought I would have my Mustang out of storage by now but the weather is not cooperating at all. Cold, rainy weather keeps my stead in her warm stable. I'll be going to see her as well as Angela's Dad and Grandmother this weekend. Angela's Dad and I will be spending the morning and afternoon giving both our Mustang's a nice coat of wax in prep for next weekend's car show. We will then clean up and take Grandma out to her favorite eating establishment as we celebrate Mothers day. Grandma is 90 years young.

Sunday: Winter returns here on Sunday as we are expected to get a frost and the daytime high will be equivalent to late February temperatures. That means I'll be working on one of the layouts. I have some Tam Valley Frog Juicers I need to install to the HO layout so I may brew up some tea, fire up the podcasts and work on that. No real plans other then to stay indoors and work on trains.

So how about you? Where is your model railroad list taking you this weekend? Let us know. We'll come back on Monday the 10th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

This weekend will be different for sure. We had to put down our dog, a boxer back in March. We have adopted another young boxer and i am driving tomorrow to pick her up. This will be our 4th boxer in 29+ years and the 3rd that we have rescued. We’re pretty stoked and excited.

As for modeling, I imagine some minor progress on a few things, mostly Sunday. I am still working on the “dirt road” scene and maybe I will advance somewhat. Certainly won’t “finish”.

    Have a great weekend all!

I would like to rebuild the standing vegetable planter we have. It got knocked apart during the rains and winds from Hurricane Isaias when our pergola collapsed and broke apart. We still have Easter decorations to put away. The worst thing is we have to shop for a new refrigerator as the freezer in the current one is not staying cold.

On the modeling front I have the cinder conveyor to build, and the a water tower to weather. I could also work on the engine facilities yard. If the track I ordered arrives I have another crossover to build. Maybe run some trains.

Bowling now done for the year except for the Senior Tournament this coming week, last week bowling no-tap I had a 810 series and tied for second in the doubles contest the last night of bowling.

Saturday will be off to the club to run trains and have some stimulating conversation. Later in the evening will be working on a 1958 CF IMRC Covered Hopper kit and an IMRC 40' boxcar kit. along with some other projects.

Sunday will see doing the laundry along with some modeling and decal work.

    Good morning all,

During the week my wife bumped her head on the lowered doorway gate to the train room, she is OK. So making the gate more visible is the priority project right now. I have ordered some materials and depending on what comes in, I'll be working on that. Otherwise will work on the trailers and military vehicles. Saturday evening we will meet some friends for dinner. It will be the first time out to a restaurant for us since the pandemic started.

Hope you all enjoy the weekend whatever you are doing.

I haven't gotten anything done the last few weeks since we started looking into a second home for after Lori retires the end of next year. We have settled on the Hilton Head area and working on home plans. Homes are in such demand there that it is a year to 15 months before something will be ready for occupancy, which plays into our long term plans.

Back here at home there is rain in the weekend forecast. Hopefully I can finish the lawn and yard work before the rain moves in, wrap up the housework, and get something done on the layout for the first time in almost a month including running some trains.

Final exams are next week, so it's mostly studying for me. I've been seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for a few weeks, and now I only have a few days left of the semester.

That means I need a big project to do this summer. I've been thinking of a scratchbuild or kitbash. I'm excited to get back to modeling for a few months, let's just hope my skills aren't too rusty. I have a few ideas in mind; at Cornfield, I saw a few Kato business cars, which got me thinking about BNSF business cars. The Kato model is a Burlington car, which is still in service with BNSF, so if I can find one relatively cheap on eBay, that could be an interesting project. Another option would be Southern (NS) 50' TOFC cars from the Front Range kit. I'd like to follow @rch's method for modifying these cars. These are pretty iconic cars and I see them in old videos all the time, and I'm short on TOFC cars too, so it would be nice to expand the fleet.

I have a lot to think about, but I just have to get through these last few exams first.

Thinking of painting an HOn30 box car which has been sitting naked for too long, waiting. Maybe take a picture of it to share. Then, who knows...?

It seems like I am finally getting over "Spring Fever". This malady is characterized by going outside a lot and looking at the scenery and sky. :D I did finalize the working drawing for the hotel and began gathering material. It was a cool morning here and looks like some are expecting frost at their location. Wow. Unusual weather. Summer is coming soon though. I hope all have a safe, well and fun weekend. (y)

I had a bunch of stuff planned for the weekend. Wash the car, cut my hair, mother's day stuff, visit my folks (my dad has a layout so I can let my trains stretch their legs once in awhile over there - no layout at my place) For modelling I want to work on my Metroliner some more. During this week I designed and printed the trucks - which I hadn't planned on doing but sometimes I get bursts of energy to do stuff like that. So, for this weekend I really need to work on a chassis and rough out the the various boxes, hatches and equipment that hangs on the underside to fill out the space between the trucks. I printed a "shorty" Metroliner to save on printing resin while I test fit and adjust things - here you can see the new trucks:

Also on my modelling plans is to get the handrail design done for the CF7. I may or may not have a test print before the weekend is done but getting all the bends and alignment worked out is the hardest part for me. Here's engineer side front railing that I did this week.

    Cheers -Mike
