Well it's happened again, another weekend has gone by at a lightening speed. For myself, I just got back from NH a few hours ago. I got a lot of research done on Potter Place, including measurements of the entire south side in which I will be modeling. My Dad and I measured from the center of the road to each land mark, switch, length of distance between items to the tracks as well as dimensions for the freight depot. In other good news, the Andover Historical Society has repainted the passenger station in B&M colors and it looks very nice. I'll post pictures and more when I catch up on more sleep. A lot of research was done on the Northern Line and more mysteries were solved, while more were made.

So, how about you? did you accomplish all that you set out to do? Let us know. We'll do this again this Friday.

    Wow- Jim, that's awesome.

I didn't get much done modelling wise. Had to get ready as best as possible for my Wife's surprise B-Day party. That was a success!! We had a lot of fun.
I did mess around with a TCS decoder in my N-Scale cab forward. No joy there. The darn thing isn't responding to the 4 digit adress. Very strange. I'll be posting on the DCC forum, for help/advise.

    Enjoy your week, guys,

    Wolf

After a year's hiatus I finally added the final details to 2 of the 4 Excact Rail Covered Hoppers I am building, I added the Brakewheel, Brakewheel Platform, Running Board Handgrab and Cut Levers. Added a placard to one car for the decal and painted both cars for future decal application. (Pictures in the What's on your Workbench Forum)

I also painted a white roof on an RBL and the white end for an 86' Hi-Cube. While the paint brush was out painted an Enterprise Covered Hopper and an NYC RS-32.

I'm a slacker, too. We spent most of the weekend at Parent's Weekend with our daughter at college. It was a great time, even if I did have to just chill for a couple of hours while the ladies went in and out of endless shops, none of which contained trains or anything else of interest after you've read all the refrigerator magnets. We walked around Old Orchard Beach (Maine) which is a thriving, tacky amusement park area in the summer. Now, it's almost entirely shuttered for the year, and the sight of all the closed rides was kind of eerie. We found a place that was still open for lunch, and while sitting there a freight came by. It was kind of disturbing to see how many of the freight cars had been tagged, not just a little, but all the way across the bottom half of the car.

Not me. Between football and honey does I built six caspia trees. Can't see the forest because of the trees. Jim

Not much done over the weekend. But I did get some more weight into the boxcab, and the sun cooperated enough to get some neat photos:

And here's a shot of my 59-tonner in front of my cardstock model of Herndon Depot:

Well my club attended the train show yesterday in Kingston NY. This is a new show and the promoter is not affiliated with either of the Kingston clubs. My club had five layouts on display. Our HO modular, our lionel layout, a small Thomas layout for the kiddies, our new T-Trak layout and a members 3' X 5' N layout. All ran beautifully the entire day. There was quite a turnout for the day. I didn't get my T-Trak modules as scenicked as I would have liked to and my signals were not ready, but everybody had a good time.

I had to work out of town this weekend and did not get in until last night. I did not get any modeling done. I am off this week and I am going to try to get something done.

Took out my 2 undec GP-9 shells and my GMM detail kit. What a disaster. Shaved off the formed louvers, shaved too deep in some spots, got glue everywhere and somewhat crooked louvers. Also ended up 4 louvers short. Won't be doing this again, good thing the shells aren't that expensive.

Went up North, got a good start on a couple of shake-the-box covered hopper kits but neglected to put any CA in the project box so couldn't attach the weights. Have to finish them next trip.:tb-embarrassed:

    That boxcab is really nice.

Those trees are also very nicely done.

It snowed here so my layout is under up to 6" f snow. I took pictures but my recent computer rebuild has me fiddling with all kinds of settings and I can't seem to upload pics right now.

I got my modeling area picked up a bit and picked up my Milwaukee Road "UP scheme" coaches from the hobby shop. The biggest modeling thing I did this weekend, however, was helping prep my ex-railroad conductor grandpa for his final train orders. He left on the westbound yesterday evening, but not without some visits from us first. He's the guy that got me into rails, railroads, and model trains in the first place. Without him I wouldn't have become a rail fan, rail modeler, and amateur rail historian, and I never would have been involved with Brill trolley car #300 when it was on the Willamette Shore Trolley.

This touched my heart & brought tears to my eyes............My "grandpa" was a huge presence & guide in my life, and now, I find myself as "papa"..............my 7yr. old grandson Jayden loves trains & modeling, thanks to my influence.
I hope your grandpa rests in peace, and I KNOW he will always be a warm memory to you, as mine is to me.
