We're back to the start of a new week, how did everyone do this weekend?

My weekend was as expected, getting Angela's son ready for the big move in day at college, garage clean up and organization and yard work. Nothing by the way of trains this weekend. I think I'm on. "Summer break" kind of mind set right now, and judging by the entries the last few weeks, I'm not alone. Once the days start getting shorter and cooler however, I have no doubt that things will pick up.

So how about you? Are you too on Summer break? Did you get any model railroading done? Let us know. We'll do it all over again by starting Friday the 18th. Until then, have a good week, stay safe and...

    High Greens!

No modelling for me this past weekend. Summer time is a bit busy. Perhaps this coming up weekend I can get something done. If not - no big deal.

Hope Y'all had a great weekend,

Worked on wiring and cutting gaps in the track I've put down thus far. It is my intention to have my double track main line divided into 8 blocks (4 blocks/main line). One of my goals for this, my third and last edition of the Albemarle Division was to have C&O style D targets and signal bridges.

One bonus I had early Saturday AM while in the workshop working on my first cup of coffee.... I found the Dremel tool my family gave me in the late 80's. I have newer ones, but this is one w/ the flexible shaft. Cutting gaps was a snap w/ that thing. Very neat job they do.

Also got wiring "almost" finished where I will have an interchange. I've have (imaginitively (y) ) named Interchange, Virginia. Chipping away at this thing.

Assembled, painted and temporarily installed a Walthers Cornerstone diesel fueling station on my layout-in-progress:

I had to cut up the base and rearrange the original plan to fit it in the available space.

Needless to say, I didn't go with the original plastic colors... Much fun was in creating fuel stains on and under the tank and grime on the platforms and other surfaces. On the right is a tank I found at a train show a while ago, already assembled. I plan on using that beside or behind the engine shed as a lube oil tank.

I managed to squeeze an hour or so of railfanning on my prototype into a weekend of helping my folks close up their house prior to a multi-month overseas trip. While there was a lot of stuff to see in the yards, the only thing I saw moving was a track inspector. (n)
