Good morning everyone. I hope you all had a good weekend and got some things done. Please keep some of our members in your thoughts and prayers as there are some serious health issues and our continued support is appreciated. Let's get started.

Saturday: I slept in, late, very late for me. 9:00am. I tossed around the idea of heading to NH alone but after talking with my Dad, we decided it would not be a good idea. We have made other plans now. After a great breakfast with my wife, we got started with the Christmas decorations. I went full on Griswald this year. It was almost 60 degrees so climbing on the roof wasn't too bad but boy this old farm house has one steep pitch! By dark, we realized we needed more supplies so we went in and picked up more lights and enjoyed a nice meal together.

Sunday: I got up earlier and set out to convert both my GP15-1 and my new Genesis box car to the good ole standard #5 Kadee couplers. Once that was done, Ang wanted to check out a new antique store. We checked out two and enjoyed the visit but did not find anything. Once home, stage two of Christmas lights was started and by 6:30 the lights were done, complete with a dusk to dawn switch mounted and no cords to trip on. She wants more but that will have to wait. While she was finishing supper, I went up stairs and worked on the GP15 some more and fine tuning the Proto Throttle. I'm close, but it is a joy to operate. Hopefully I'll have some time during the week to get more programing done.

So how about you? What did you get done this past weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble once again on Black Friday, the 26th to see how we did. Until then, have a great week, be safe, stay healthy and for all those state side and those serving the United States throughout...

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
    &
    High Greens!

Well, got up Saturday morning feeling super congested and now feel like I am probably having more than sinus or allergy issues. Will go see what the doc has to say about it later today. Despite feeling under the weather, I did get a few things done this weekend. Had a few trees left to use and found a good spot for them. Worked on some ground cover, installed a new wireless keyboard and mouse for the computer in the train room, and started striping the paint and decals on a boxcar. Oh, I ran some trains as well :)

Hope you all have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Completed a shelf to hold my DCC throttle. It's super strong and removable too for when the layout gets moved someday. Also completed my floor shelf built of scrap plywood left over from the train table build. I have no scrap 1/4" for its back, but that'll come along later I'm sure.

Spent the weekend giving the house a good cleaning and a bit of yard work as well. The house cleaning will continue today and Tuesday in preparation for having guests over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The layout room is also getting a good cleaning as is the layout itself. Did order a Walthers kit for the section of the layout I am now working on.

    Wishing everyone an enjoyable Thanksgiving.

Little was accomplished this past weekend. Wife and I went to a concert out of town on Friday night and got back Saturday morning. I did get work done on the wooden trestle challenge kit and it nearing completion.

Got some painting done on layout.
Painted 'loads' on these gondolas. I believe it was 'foam dust' from cutting with a saw. Will be creating a 'cliff / quary' using the same colors where it was 'mined'.

Edit: Oh, I would really love to know what colors you see in the loads?

Nothing concrete. Fiddled with various little projects. Shuffled things on my workbench. Kind of disappointed with my progress on several projects.

Oh, and started a 'Family Day Henge'. This is from Nov 18 splitting the difference between my wife and oldest grandson.
Birthday Henge Wife and Grandson AM Nov 18 2021 Cropped.jpg
Picture taken at 'exactly' 8:00 AM. The pegs, (bamboo skewers), were arranged so that the shadows of the pegs line up. This will be done for each family member and the Soltice / Equanox.
Next up will be Soltice which I calculte to be 7.5° to the left (dure north) .
Sigh: I'll have to start over when we move.

Thanks for the reminder re: folks with health concerns. This weekend I planned the next projects to be attempted. Got started on the drive link upgrade. Early tests are promising. Also downloaded a pic that inspired me for the next rolling stock project. More on that later. And like others, cleaned up the work area and organized supplies and drawings I would need. All be well and safe. And Happy Thanksgiving! :)

Happy T'Giving week everyone. Weekend went as I thought. Worked on 2 buildings that needed some attention. Put in window glass, fixed some busted pieces from glue that dried out while in storage for many years, and added some details. Could have done more, but as scheduled we went to the NC State-Syracuse game around 1:00PM Saturday and tailgated until the game started at 4. Yesterday did some more modeling work and then in the afternoon went to a funeral.

I am off this whole week and will be hitting some modeling during the week along w/ a laundry list of honey-do's and a few things to do for the office working from home.

    Happy Turkey Legs!

    Better weekend then most.

Saturday started out with the NMRA division meeting. I was giving a clinic. After the meeting was another meeting on the train show wrap up. Getting plans together for the next one. Then after stopping by the LHS and picking up the three locos I had on order and finding a BLI cab forward for a great price I went home and started programming my stack.

Found a few issues with with a few I installed.

Rsd 4/5- work on their own, won’t consist. One stopped working altogether. May have a loose wire, lights won’t light on all. Digitrax

Rsd 12 - no lights tsunami

Heisler- has sound, whistle, bell, and lights. no movement. Tsunamis

Shay- whistles only. No lights bell or nothing else no movement and very quiet

Athearn SD70ACE- factory installed tsunami- jerks May have gears binding

Mantua 2-6-6-2-t- Digitrax, no response after programming. Old decoder will get new one

Mantua 2-6-6-2- MRC decoder. May have short.

And that’s what I did this weekend. And I still have a few to go.

Wife is doing better but we are not out of the woods yet. Looks like she will be in the hospital a little longer as they try to get her numbers where they want them. She is move active, goes from the bed to chair and walks around the room. Again thank you for all the well wishes.

My daughter and I got the outdoor furniture put away in the garage and got all the potted plants into their winter home in the attic. I even caught up on the laundry.

On the layout I got all the roadbed in the area of the passenger station glued down. I attached the track and ran test trains. I began painting the side of the rails and ties. On the workbench I changed out the couplers on six Bowser hopppers. I added "glass" to a Bachmann Reading caboose and changed out the couplers. On two Athearn Blue Box cars I added screws to hold in the coupler clips.
