Hello Everyone: Here is a video I made with all of my catches of catching the KCS Gulfport local on this line while I was in Mississippi visiting my grandpa. I was also able to catch a KCS Ballast train with two KCS EMD SD50 6-Axle engines on this line. Here is the video link. Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Am6XEvGcQsE&list=UUQv-YnmgjyR59cZ-d5bHnIQ&index=1&feature=plcp
It's so great to see these trains go through at 25 mph after s-o-o-o many years at 10 mph. Looking forward to seeing 49 mph when the FRA certifies the line for Class IV. You don't realize that this line is climbing all the way from GPT yard until you see/hear the engines working so hard as in your first segment. That segment caught them while climbing more than 200 feet in the five miles from Saucier to McHenry. OK, so it's only 0.7% average, but that's pushing it for south Mississippi where Yankees say it's so flat and b-o-o-o-r-i-n-g...LOL
It is great to see these trains going 25 mph. Love the Belle paint on the old Geeps they look great! the new track looks awesome! from the last time I seen it back in 2008. That first part of that video those four engines were working to get up that grade love the sound as they went by. Looking south as the train was going by me the track drops down a good ways and then the line goes right back up. Gotta check out this line again for sure when I come back to Mississipp
