When it comes to Kodachrome people either love it or hate it. I haven't found to many people in between. Has anyone seen, modeled, or imagined an alternative? A bloody nose yellow bonnet? A black widow war bonnet? With so many colors and schemes to work with I'm sure several alternatives would have eventually come out and just maybe something original.

Personally, I love the Kodachrome. My first trip to California was right when the "merger" was occuring so, they have a spot in my heart. On scheme I would have liked to seen was in Trains, right when the SP and Rio Grande Merger was announced. Someone artist did a merger scheme that was right on. I can't find the issue in my archives though....

My nickname for the Kodachrome scheme is "Tyco", because only a manufacturer of junk "model trains" would come up with such a garish paint job. The worst variation was SP's filthy, paint-peeling-to-primer-coat scheme. Thank goodness the ICC nixed this merger, IMO.............

If you mean the second version, another Tyco-inspired paint job. I prefer the first one better.....but now I digress. My favorite paint jobs on SP would be the gray & scarlet (the "bloody nose"), the Black Widow, and the tiger-stripe scheme. Hmm......tiger stripes with the new speed lettering......
I like Kodachromes in a nostalgic kind of way. I think if the merger had gone through, I'd hate them. Also, I'm a Bloody nose Black Widow Tiger stripes (does this count? I mean SF had that too) Daylight. unless we're talking about GS-4s on which the daylight looks awesome.
Hmmmm... Blackwidow over a warbonnet? over the yellow bonnet may stand out better. Maybe combine the Zebra/Tiger sripes? ahh definately NOT! My point is as BNSF has done with their various schemes so would have SPSF I believe. I was just fishing for any alternative shcemes anyone may have come up with.
