    Hey Hemi,

I don't see anywhere where a train can crossover from the inner loop to the outer loop, or vice versa. Is this your plan, or didja just forget?

I am Assuming that the two track area that is shaded in is an Intermodal ramp. You may want to think about swapping it with the yard, as it may make switching hard with cranes, trailers, and other intermodal support structures blocking your reach. An added bonus is that your main line trains can pick-up and set-out directly from the ramp tracks, as they would be right next to the main.

Moving the ramp may kink the yard leads, but if you have the room I would strongly reccomend it.

I had a modular layout that looked similar to that one set up in my dining room. The placement of the ramp did cause some trouble when using the old 0-5-0.

I revised my layout idea, and posted it to my album, in the red link below. Check it out, and see if I corrected any of the possible problem areas. Thanks for the great ideas!

Is that a mountain in the lower left of your layout plan? If it is, I would hesitate before I put a crossover inside a tunnel, if only for maintenance sake and in the event of a derailment over the turnouts.
Other than that, the addition of the other turnouts look great!

    Doh!
I guess I must have been asleep when I revised that section of the plan... Just imagine that crossover is not there...
Should I make that section single track? How many major class 1 railroads have double-tracked tunnels on their mains....

Just about all the Class 1s (except KCS) in the US have/had double tracks with tunnels. You're right on track (pun intended) with what you got.
Get them N scale gandy dancers busy now..... :D
