From the MKT group, this list of surviving depots, posted by Bruce Blalock.

    Hello,
    >
    > Its time for me to resubmit my list of existing Katy depots for updates.
    >
    > For this list: A depot (passenger, freight or combination) is a public place, where people (in addition to employees) can arrive or depart by train, pick up and send express shipments and conduct business and telegraph communication. A yard office, like Eureka, was never a public place. If that were to be included then a huge
number of other buildings should be included as well. New locations are shown if the structure has moved. Thanks for keeping depots only on this list.
    >
    > These are arranged loosely in a North-to-South, subdivision by subdivision format.
    >
    > If you know of others, or corrections or additions to this, please contact me off line and I'll make changes. Addresses would be welcome, as well any other pertinent information about the structure, its use or owners.
    >

Bruce in a great guy. He and his wife run a bed and breakfast in Smithville. He is currently restoring an old Katy caboose in the back yard for another bed room. He still works for UP and shows up in Houston a lot. I can usually recognize him on the scanner.

In Texas, the big Katy Station in Dennison survives as does the Katy Depot in Temple.
Also, the depots in Hillsboro;Itasca;West;Albany;La Grange;Rockwall and Katy are preserved.

New location of Greenville Hobby Depot

I guess I started this post, and must have logged in as a different user. Anyway, the depot was sold to the City Of Greenville and I have relocated the Hobby shop, to the Greenville Village Antique Mall.

    Greenville Hobby Depot
    2316 Johnson St. Suite # 106/107
    Greenville, Texas 75401

    (903) 454 - 8647

We are working on a new web-sight and will be up soon on Go Daddy.com Our hours of operation are Tues - Saturday 10 AM - 5 PM. The city will be restoring the old depot, and it will once again be a great place for photos. Thanks!

The Bartlesville joint MKT-ATSF station is a neat thing to see. It still sits by the tracks, right on Frank Phillips Blvd.

Also, as long as he's listing Union Depots, he should list Tulsa's. It was a Frisco-Santa Fe-MKT joint venture. Of course, the Katy was the first one to abandon it, but when it was done in conjunction with the PWA (do I have the right alphabet soup?) in 1931, the Katy was in on it, and continued to serve it for just over twenty years. And most of that station does still stand on First St. in Tulsa.
