    Great stuff guys.
I like those Cary shells, had a couple GP's on Athearn chassis those geeps would pull like crazy. Might even be able to get a knuckle or drawbar with those:)

It's nice to get locomotives that can pull. I have a brass Northern Pacific Z-5 Yellowstone, a 2-8-8-4, custom painted and weathered that we were running at the Great Falls model railroad club a number of years back that was pulling 120 some cars and not even working up a sweat. Probably could have put more on, but we ran out of freight cars. Now you have to get to work and finish the F units. You sound like me. I have quite a number of projects that were started and sitting in limbo waiting to be finished.

Made this SDP40 years ago using RRP SD40 and Athearn Tunnel Motor shells and kitbashed them onto an Athearn SDP40 BB frame. Painted with Scalecoat paint used Microscale decals, plenty of detail parts and some weathering with chalks and airbrush.
    Thanks for looking.

    Frisco #151

Very nice, Tom. I always enjoy seeing your modeling. Here's an old Rivarossi Genoa that I bashed into Frisco 4-4-0 #151. The OO scale Rivarossi was just right to model my Frisco loco. The driver size is just right and I scratchbuilt the cab and straightened the boiler. Brass detail parts and spoked pilot wheels were added as per the prototype. The motor was replaced with one from NWSL including a brass flywheel. The tender has eight wheel pick up thanks to Athearn/Roundhouse tender trucks. I added a Tsunami Soundtrax decoder and speaker in the tender. It's the smoothest runner I have.

    Thanks Jim
I didnt know you could do all that with one of those steamers. I enjoy the way you modify and tweek the models in your endeavors. It is very interesting seeing your modeling as well as how far you have come on your branch line.
BTW how do you guys get your photos to come in so large? T ones I submitted are 1.5-6 woo woo woo. But appear small when compared to the photo you submitted. I am very PC/tech challenged. Not to mention I cant spell or type very good either.

4458674816_0d668192d4_b.jpg I built this from a RPP shell and a OMI drive with the brass fuel tank.

    Thanks, Bobby

Tom, Photos are larger when they come from a second party hosting site like Photobucket. Many of us have albums there and transfering to TB is easier that simply uploading from your computer. My best guess. Jim

Strong point? I would say that looking at your last photo makes you Superman.
That IMHO is nothing short of classic!

Very nice SDP40, I had always wanted to build one of them, not sure one would fit on my current layout though :(

Hey Scope, I don't think your beautiful Connie is "ready to rumble" ! Better re-rail that pilot truck first !

    BN GE B30-7AB

Made this I dont remember how many years ago from RRP shell, DW, DA, Smokey Valley parts. Sitting on an Athearn BB chassis with a hex drive motor and NWSL wheels. Surprising how smooth it runs. Finally got around to weathering it a couple days ago. I am sure it could be built better and more accurate if starting over using todays available parts, but it is, good enough for me.
    Thanks for looking.

Very nice job. I like these 'different' locomotives, and was lucky to see several during our visit to southern Cal. back in 1998.

I built one of those many years ago, one of the items I wish I never sold along with a GP39V and GP39E that I used to run as a set.

Good to see another one built, not many about.

    BN GP39E

Thanks For the kind words Guys. I have sold a lot of stuff over the years that I wish I hadn't, a couple have found their way back though. I like to see them come home.
This GP is a P2K/Cannon/ DW/DA/Athearn hybrid that I finished maybe a year ago. Just got to get busy and weather it someday. I modified a Hex drive to work in this too. I enjoy those hex drives man they are quiet when you get them tuned up. The biggest hurdle on this was how to modify the F/S handrail, as it had to be lengthened to fit to the cab. I ended up using .015 brass wire bent to fit and took a tiny drill bit and made a grove in the stantion about half way thru the width and then took a soldering iron heated up the wire while holding the brass against the stantion with tweezers, and very carefully heated the brass wire just enough to embed the brass wire into the stantion upright. Somehow it worked, not sure I will ever chance trying that again, just got lucky. There was a lot more fabricating and filling on this than one might think. Over the last few years I seem to have migrated to the Frisco, but still enjoy modeling the variety of locos the BN had.
    Thanks Again.
