Its been a little while, so here is a new locomotive. What is this? Who owned it? When was it built? What is special about this loco?
That's a tough one. Looks British, or some other European origin, with the buffers on the pilot. The steam chest, cylinder configuration is odd. Looks like a Wootton type firebox, but the drivers look American. No clue. hboy:
Yes, it is an 0-10-0. However, it is not from India (But think of one of the main countries that built steam locomotives for them).
Yay, one I can answer (mostly) off the top of my head! Great Eastern Railway 0-10-0T, called the 'Decapod'; was the first 0-10-0 built in the UK. It was built to demonstrate that steam could be just as good at accelerating as the newfangled electric traction. I can't recall for certain what year it was built, though I do know that it was later rebuilt as an 0-8-0. I'm pretty sure it was built in the early 1900s - 1902 comes to mind, although I'm not sure if I'm just making it up.
