The VIRGINIAN ran its Trainmasters like that when more than one was on a train.

I've run LHA many times on the road and on switchers. It's not too bad in the yard except you can't see the switches sometimes but on the road it's a pain. If the engine is set up for it, that helps but you're still blind on the left. Even running the old LHA units short-hood lead stinks because all the controls are backward and on the wrong side. Scrap 'em!

I don't want to see them scrapped, it's always good to see an old loco still runing.

NS has engines that operate LHF on L71 in Ohio. But the line here is striaght all the way.

Well they are the older EMD's, usually SD40-2's and GP38's. But in Waterville, Ohio on the JM spur i've seen a Canadian National C44-9 run LHF.

I was flipping through an old Trains magazine from the 70s and there is a pic of a UP train in Nevada with a DD35 running LHF! Apparently the lead DD35 had a mechanical failure and they cut it out somewhere. Now that is one hell of a long hood to look down!
