Some updates before the end of the month!
My sons Cade and Cort have made some good progress. Looking at photos on railcarphotos.com, Cort wanted to show a worn, rusty, dirty log car with recently shopped trucks that have the blue bearing caps (since 4 years old, they called these the "blue roundy round circles), which I love when they say it even now that they are 11 and 9. Cade decided to go with a faded car, which is very common with a blue car. He finally found a use for the blue Bragdon powder!
For my car, I wanted a rusted look and decided to shave angles on the top of each log bunk.

Nice. I like seeing the stake tops angled. Looks so much better!

Good looking trio, especially as a family project!

Thanks guys. It was definitely a good reason to work on some cars together with a goal of finishing within the month.

Nice job, although I'm kind of not used to seeing Southern boxes without the green light. They look very good, that's just by way of observation.

The SOU called this scheme the "Claytor", definitely not as noticeable as the green light scheme. There's a decent amount of the real ones running around on NS but they don't stand out much in the sea of brown boxcars.

Looks good. Wow, I forgot all about the MR&T. That was a long time ago when they started that.
