Good evening...I just purchased a Marklin 8876 Zeppelin from eBay and I have read that they are noisy and don't run very well. I was hoping to have the motor upgraded to a 5 pole motor but did a little research and see that a 5 pole motor is not available for these. Does anyone have one of these and what are your experiences with these trains? Thanks in advance for your help.
For the Zeppelin a 5 pole motor would not help a lot. It is just driven on one axle, that is the problem. A cleaned up 3 pole motor runs better, this may help. And with a decoder also a 3 pole runs well.
