I'm trying to use Excel to create N scale wrapped lumber loads. I cannot get the logo to copy into the cells.
I imagine that it's easy which is why I'm not successful.
    Please help.

Well I figured it out. I just pushed buttons that I hadn't before and they worked.
Why does simple have to be so hard to figure out?

Note: All of the following is speculation.
    I could be completely wrong.

About 1000 years ago I did tech support for Micro-sponge, er(soft). In the early days 'Discoverability' was the operative word. They *wanted* the new computer generation to be able to use their 'GUI', (graphical user interface).

Over time the complexity of the software increased and MS found they made more money providing support by charging for it or selling certifications to tech or how to books.
For what its worth inserting graphics was a very high support issue.

Kinda like the reverse of DCC.
DCC was hard at first but has gotten easier as time has gone by, (well, according to what I have read there). ☻

As with all computer software, the trend is to make things easier to use by making stuff harder to find.

Try and google Algoma Model Railroad, a web site of mr. Chris van Heide, a Canadian modeller, that has lots of things you're looking for.
That includes N scale lumber wraps, templates and alike, all for yours to choose fom and download for free....i had a few nice results with them and going over the wealth of info on that sie, you will find much more you can learn /use.

Better to roughly right, than to be exactly wrong...

For sure. My christmas present is a new little computer that is amazing. It's the same size as the 5 1/4" floppy drive in my first computer. But the older ones were a snap to operate.

Thanks for the heads up. Lots of nice choices.
Would you know what percentage to use to reduce HO to N scale on a photocopy machine?

    To All,

I use a HO pdf file (with the lumberwrap make-up) and print them at 54.4% the exact ratio of 87.1 / 160 and then have the N scale equivalent of the HO scaled wraps etc...
From a rainy and grey Netherlands...

Here is an image that demonstrates my results (good or bad) with making my own water slide decals using Excel. Hers's how I do them:

    1. I download the logo from the internet many from the companies own web site.
    2. I then import them into an excel file.
    3. Then highlight that image and drag one corner in or out, depending on which size you need to create. The image does not need to be in a cell.
    4. I then print some black/white images and test fit to the sides of the container.
    5. If they fit and are Ok, I then decide if I need them on white or clear decal paper.
    6. Print, let ink dry for 2-3 hours, apply to container and let dry completely, then seal with dull cote after all decals are applied.

The below image shows a one piece decal applied to the side of each container. It does not show the ends which also have decals of doors on one end and other stuff on head end. You will note a red hazmat placard on the upper container. That is an individual decal that is applied over the other decal.

Are they perfect, heck no but very believable and much less expensive than ready to run containers. It is getting hard to find plain white undecorated 53" containers.

I could not resist and added this image to show ends:

All of these are self made decals!

Excuse my rambling but I like to share. Be well! ! !

I believe that with personal computers having been with us several decades now, some writers believe everyone is now hyper-literate with these types of programs. If I am thinking in the right direction, a bad assumption on their part. :(

From the beginning I built my own most of the time. It was easy, people talked about them in understandable terms and operation was easily learned. Then along came Smart A phones and Windows 10. :(
