here is an example of good service

i got a 89' Accurail TOFC in RTTX and it only had 2 raised hiches so this is what i wrote to accurail

i have just got one of your 89' RTTX TOFC flatcars, but i have found that
their is only enough hitches to build 2 raised and 2 lowered, as these
cars can take 3 28' pups shouldnt there be at least 3 raised hitches? is
there one missing from my kit or do you only suply 2.

thanks
Matthew Curtis

Hello from Accurail
The flatcar kits are normally supplied with four hitches, and this
configuration was determined by the former owner (and creator) of the
tooling for that particular kit.
From what I've been able to figure out, the reason there were two of each
type of hitch instead of three is because only 45' trailers have been
marketed along with the flatcar and of course only two of these trailers
fit on it. At least that seems to be the most plausible reason they tooled
it that way.
I'll be happy to have some extra hitches sent free of charge if you can
supply a UPSable mailing address and let me know which color(s) you'd like.

Best regards,
Eric Cote
Accurail Inc.

i then sent my addy
Mr. Curtis,

I'm very impressed with Accurail and Eric Cote especially! Every time i pester them about that Proto Accumate he always responds... [IMG]

I thought about the extra hitch thing but never thought to write them! Guess i'll have to do that whenever i get around to intermodal detailing as i already have some of the 89' flats which are EXCELLENT models IMO!

In My Opinion!

They are good models... especially when you got some scale grabs on and P87 wheels... [IMG]
