And... if you just wonder where the dispatcher and station crew got their traditional Italian espresso coffee shot first thing in the morning, just to get some energy kicking in....

The bar is open and working..... the early bird passengers prefer to wait inside....

AJ was making his morning rounds inspecting all the tanks, and today he discovered a leak, OMG!:

Al's Last Chance Texaco is the last fuel for more than 120 miles, but they don't do service with a smile, they don't do windshields or check your oil, and whatever they do, they don't, except they do breaktime!

Rusty and Lane have been around these parts as long as I can remember, and if you need a Spiral Gyrating Cratostat, or a Counter Rotating Bittle Shaft, they can prolly dig one up. They'll trade for yer 'ol pickup, or how about for yer dog house? Chopper chewed his up real good, and has been sleeping in an 'ol washing machine lately:

After showing the for lease building a few time Jenny realized it's a no go without some work. She went with that roofing company we all know run by Mr. Low Bidder and today the guys are hard at work doing mostly nothing.

Meanwhile down below the team from Catlett Exterior Painting is slapping on a super thin cheap coat of exterior paint to freshen things up.

There have been many complaints about static on the phone lines, especially from O'Malley's Bar and from Mildred, the office manager at Acme Anvils. The phone company is hard at work... and Fred is finding it hard to get his belly to fit down the manhole. A city bus gingerly makes its way around the work site as O'Malley idly watches in the distance.

John needs to head to the John so he's kneeled down hoping they finish surveying the left side of the new Starbucks foundation quick. Imagine the surprise he is going to get when he heads that way only to find a bunch of hoodlums tipped over the porta potty while no one was there. Ouch!

Someday, somewhere, someone will invent a shovel that will be able to hold itself up.

Think of all those poor souls who will be out of work, no longer having a shovel on which to lean.:eek::eek:

Here is one for me. The maintenance crew stopped to check the oilers on the pump and motor when a unit in the refinery puked and set the flare a blaze. They brought along a new fire extinguisher but forgot the caddy to set it on. They were also to unload the drum of oil and have not done so. The truck looks like they have been in the back forty playing bumper trucks?? Must have been late in the graveyard shift...... No real supervision around!

Oh yea, "the graveyard shift" how well I remember, what fun that was. We worked a shift for one week and rotated from 7am - 3pm, 3pm - 11pm, 11p - 7 am. What a blast that was.

    Thanks for looking, stay well,
    Carl

Sometimes, a Bo just don't feel like doing nothin' but playing his Juice Harp, and along the Carson & Colorado line, there's only 1 train a day, so there's lots of time to burn. These ventilated boxcars are the perfect place to relax too!:
    02.JPG

And other times there's plenty of trains for a Bo to choose from, but just ask 'Ol Cigaret if he's in a hurry to get anywhere, and he'll say as long as it's not Shack's train, it's a good time to relax!

Seems one of your workers is wearing high heels:rolleyes:
Surely they are equipped with metal caps for toe-protection :D

I'm not too sure that skin-tight work outfit is regulation. But it's nice to look at...;)

Dang you sharp eyed dudes found my test! ! As far as metal caps for toe protection we were required to wear steel toed work boots suitable for working in oily conditions. Perhaps this explains the lack of real supervision ?

    Be well,
    Carl

This scene from one of my Ntrak modules. Different angles of the same scene with different stories....

It's Barney's first day on this job site and he had asked his boss why anyone would build a new house next to the railroad tracks, do they actually like trains ? The boss told him that the guy who they are building the house for owns the A&W next door.

    MenAtWork1.jpg

Barney is sure the hot blonde in the red outfit sitting in the lawn chair next door is checking him out while he is working and wonders if her husband has noticed her doing so.

What a great scene, really tells a tale! Having worked in construction back in the day, I can relate to this scene!

Still have calluses in my hands from the #2 shovel......:cautious:
