Welcome to the weekly installment of my fav thread! Been a while since I had a theme MPOTW, so here goes. This week's theme? Bridges. RBeyer caught a BNSF stacker detouring on Keith Schaber's UP Blue Mountains Sub: Mark Dance eases a way freight over the slide bridge: John Warren's bridge carries both road and rail over this large chasm: Mikelhh's Bakery local tiptoes carefully into the treacherous mudpit;
Cont'd: Wolfgang Dudler grabbed a nice scene of Train 56's second section: Last but not least, Pete D captured the action at the Ravine: See you next week! What's the theme? How about non-revenue cars!
I like the theme, and you picked a great line-up. Mikelhh's shot had me wondering if you slipped in a prototype shot by mistake. The scenery work is impressive (as always), but the car on the bridge caused me to pause and wonder for a few seconds. I also like Pete's shot. The scenery is great, but the composition and lighting is also very well done.
Absolutely beautiful scenes.:thumbs_up: I had the same reaction as Bruce with mikelhh's shot. I saw the Chevy on top of the bridge and it seemed just a tad too realistic...laugh:
Thanks Hemi, Bruce and Mike. I agree - Pete's scene is a stunner [looks great at full size] and there's particularly beautiful rock work in all the others :thumbs_up:
Wow, love all the bridges, especially the Bakery Local in full size. The only thing that gives it away is the lack of a driver in the VW...maybe I can't see the little old lady looking through the spokes of the steering wheel.
Where did you get the Caprice? That is a VERY cool photo! {I have the VW} Mikelhh's Bakery local tiptoes carefully into the treacherous mudpit; [/QUOTE]
Cheers Paul It was purchased through Structures and Trains By Fred - they stock a few road vehicles. Mike
