Great job, Bernd. The overall scene is very good and the details are really cool. I wish I could get some of those PCB tie strips like you used. Those look like they would make fixing flex track so much easier.
Wow, this has turned out fantastic! What a wonderful module... the detailing and relation to prototype are just brilliant So assuming that this is pretty much 'done' what is your next project likely to be? I can't wait to see what you turn to next as your work is inspiring
Gary, The road was made with fine filler. I pressed some decent tire marks in the setting filler. Then I painted the road as you see it in the picture above. The last step was the gravel: I used flint from the german manufacturer ASOA and applied a thin layer of it with a very fine screen. I applied it in a thin layer of a mixture of white glue, water and dishwashing detergent. Tad, maybe the guys at N Land Pacific can help you. Thanks Bernd - very helpful. Now, could you tell me what flint is in this context? Is it the same material our ancestors used to make tools? Good tip on the soap in the glue mixture. Do you spread the glue mixture first, then sprinke the covering? Do you go back and apply any glue afterwards? (When I do the latter, it always ruins it for me, but I'm after a very parched look.) Gary, I used the wrong term. The correct translation for the german word "Kies" is pebbles. I applied a thin film of the mixture with a wide brush, what is only possible with the soap to reduce the surface tension. Than I sifted a layer of pebbles in this bonding agent. I did not apply any further glue afterwards. And a last picture before I dismantle the module for the transportation:
