Well now that makes sense and the party just forgot to put Yen or did not do the conversion in which case it is a heck of a deal, because when I looked at some of the other stuff it was reasonable.

I would agree that something must have gotten lost in translation.

As a general rule, I won’t by anything listed as “custom” or “vintage.”

I think its like real estate doublespeak - you know, quaint means outdated, cozy means miniscule, etc.
Custom - really means I totally messed this one up.
Vintage - really means Goodwill refused to take it.

Sounds like a "item not as described" complaint coming if the purchaser knows what he is getting (or not getting).

...and there were 11 bids for it?!! It looks like it does have a MT coupler on one side (and a rapido on the other).

    Words to avoid:

    Custom
    Vintage
    weathered
    hand crafted

This listing almost had them all.

Hmm I am thinking maybe I ought to empty the contents of my trash can containing the non usable and messed up junk, plaster bits, a dirty Kleenex, rail bits, and non usable tie bits. And since I am old and had the junk for awhile I can list as vintage old layout junk.

Sure. Why not? Anything your kitties have sat upon, knocked to the floor, etc. Plus N scale fur balls and more. Sell it on that auction site. You will quickly have enough cash that someone else can be paid to check your crab pots, build your layout and chase Chuckie. All while you sit lazily on the porch and enjoy life!

It takes more than one stupid person to run an auction price up.
