I guess we need one of these threads here.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/bachmann-g-...r-train-set-/281759908723?hash=item419a330373
Looks like a Version 4, single hump. Notoriously...bad.
Sixty Bucks BIN with 20 to ship. 7 watching, no offers.
Broken pilot truck (wheel missing at least...maybe frame broken..cannot tell from photos), bell missing (they always are), handrails bent more than they should be.
Probably does run good until you put some weight behind it.
Wonder if the Styrofoam imbedded in the paint can be gotten out.
Ten bucks in parts, twenty delivered would be absolute tops. I've scrapped locos in better shape...and I would never be stupid enough to depend on that drive to be reliable.
Why do you think Bachmann is up to Version 6 on the 4-6-0?
    Opinion.
    Based upon experience.

    RARE!
“NO TENDER The running of the train is guaranteed by Bachmann, we only briefly bench tested it.”
Looks like a Version 3 (metal handrails), I scrap them. Boxes full of parts. Never gave more than five bucks for one of those tur....ooops....precision pieces of questionable Chinese equipment. And that's with a tender.
Now, Bachmann Warranty is something that changes often...what they cover, what they charge after one year.....and at one point they specifically excluded anything bought from evilbait unless it was a Bachmann dealer, and you need a sales receipt from a dealer.
Split gears, stripped gears, motor mount rings...and it's missing the top of the stack, no less.
    If it's a Version 4, run.
    No underside photos to tell.
Whole sets were 85 at Costco when these were new.
Whatever the shipping is, it is more than this piece is worth by a bunch.
    Opinion.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bachmann-Bi...27-Steam-Locomotive-Sight-Sound/201487350707?

Battery Big Hauler. Version 1 of the 4-6-0. According to the late Howard Lee Riley, the most expensive part was the box it came in, and that isn't included here.
Radio Control Locomotive only. Looks to have been well cared for. The features are as follows:
4-6-0 Steam Locomotive, Operating Headlight, Realistic Smoke, Speed-Synchronized Steam Sound.
It has not been tested a I have no way to do so. I can't see why It wouldn't work and It will most likely need some oiling and tuning anyhow. I can't guarantee that It will operate so there will be no refunds for that reason. Has some scratches on roof and is missing the plastic bell.

Hey, they're ALL missing the bell. I ran out getting them for folks who bought these tur...oops....units on the Bait.
Notice anything else? No transmitter. And they are absolutely made of un-obtainium. The seller didn't test it....that's easy. Slide batteries in and turn the switch on, defaults full speed forward (slow). He can't see why it wouldn't work? Plastic gear on the motor shaft is usually split. Followed by stripped crown gear. Followed by burned out electronics. Often PO lose the clip inside the backhead that connects the two lines of batteries. Plastic (warped) handrails. The only meta is the ale shafts and screws. Even the drivers are plastic.
27MC unit.....I still remember the first ones of these I saw...local club set up at a convention, turned them on, and they sat there jerking back and forth..fluorescent lighting just screwed up the receiver something fierce.
Anybody who buys an old BBH is absolutely clueless.
I have had probably a dozen over the years, all given to me in the bottom of boxes of junk. By the time you drop a $250 Barry's Chassis into it, find a tender, replace the plastic tender wheels and pilot wheels..and find a bell...then you'll be looking for replacement handrails of brass.....and when you're all done, everyone will know it's a BBH and walk away.
Paint is all scuffed to heck and begone. A 7 ijn the cab number indicates 27MC, a 9 indicates 49MC.
    Run.
    Far.
    Away.
    Opinion.

Two listings, two missing tenders. Do Bachmann G scalers eat their tenders? :)

They all come with a tender. No separate loco purchase. You KNOW the moro...errr....sellers sold tenders separately. One is a Christmas tender....how valuable would that be? Minus figure?
Cheap, poorly designed and built, PRC mass produced garbage, and some how they want you to think with over a million 4-6-0's built (if you believed Howard Lee) that suddenly these are "rare" and actually run well? And are worth more than when new?

Tell you my favourite evilbait LS story. Guy calls me up...bout a "RARE! VINTAGE!" battery big hauler (BBH) off the Bait.
I explain carefully what POS these are...oh, no, says he..the seller claims these are super rare and sought after.
How much did you spend to become a WINNER?
    $250.
    Really. Okay...does it run?
    "Doesn't have the transmitter....I need a transmitter".
Sorry, says I, made of unobtainium.
Then I ask if it runs...he says can't run..has no transmitter. So I walk him through how to put batteries in it, and turn it on, and see if it defaults full speed forward.
    Too much work.

Get a call back couple of weeks later...seems he found a transmitter for $250 MORE....and it still doesn't run.
So for $500 he has a plastic shelf queen with bad receiver/throttle, motor or gears, all because he believed the seller who said it was RARE and VINTAGE, followed with HIGHLY DESIRABLE and SOUGHT AFTER.

    Sorry, Charlie...you lose.

Some folks insist upon learning the hard way... And even after a hard lesson, still cannot piece reality together.

Wow, I have 2 battery units in perfect shape with the transmitters. They sit up in a glass case to look good in the library, maybe I should sell them and buy a Ferrari.

I only had to run them a few minutes to see what a joke they were.

Is there really a market for the transmitters? I'm not sure I would feel right selling them to anyone though, that would give them expectations.

There is a market for transmitters ONLY to the clueless who buy the VINTAGE, RARE, COLLECTIBLE POS on EvilBait without said transmitters.
I know of nobody anywhere who has a HIGHLY DESIRABLE COLLECTION of various Botch Transmitters on display.

Wow, if this is what things are going for these days then I’m pulling up everything and selling on eBay.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/30-Inch-Straight-Track-N-Scale-Ez-Single-Piece-/172323835316?

I signed up for notification for any new 30 Inch Straight Track N Scale EZ track listing years ago and I have been just deleting them, but today I took a look. It says for a single piece, but that looks like for a case price. Maybe I’m reading this wrong.

It says "Single Piece," It better be gold plated for those prices.

Look under the listing for more suggestions and check out the prices.

    What are they thinking.

    Plated?

For that price, I believe I could swing you solid gold rails. Or at least 14 karat...

I may have missed something, or a forum glitch occurred, but that's Nano Scale....
In "G", or Goofy Gauge, still high, but stainless will cost you for a 12 piece box of three foot sections, $343 plus shipping.
Then you get to buy rail clamps for $23 for 10. Two and a half boxes for the track mentioned.
Still not the $223 for one 30" section shown in the EvilBait ad.

It says N Scale Ez Track and looks just like Bachmann N Scale E-Z Track. I don't know how you get Nano Scale out of that, but then again I have never heard of Nano Scale.:D I'll have to do a quick search for Nano Scale EZ track

Well I just looked through all the EZ track at bachmanntrains.com and except for O Scale 3-rail Ez track it only comes in N and HO 2 rail scales

Yeah, I'd be interested in hearing what all that stuff stands for, as I didn't know it stood for anything. Goofy, Oversize, HOtshot, Nano and Zygote?

What about S? Is that Sharp or 'Spensive?

Nano is just...nano. Maybe you missed that this is the "G" and larger forum.
    Doesn't bother me.....
"G" is "Goofy" gauge...five major scales on the one gauge.....a whole lot of them ascribe to selective compression....
It's really #1 gauge....and then specify the scale you have chosen.
    And it's expensive.
