Railroading at its best until CTC . Auto block signals ,train orders , timetable ,two or more sections . Train register ,time orders , run ahead orders . I was lucky and got in on all of it before we stopped running on the B&O North Vernon - Jeffersonville . We run on the NYC So. Anderson - Goshen with timetable train orders without the signals until about the middle 1970s . Would get stopped at New Paris by the Wabash R.R. and the first thing he would ask ,are you still running on the Dark railroad . We had 2 or 3 bad wrecks and several almost ,but thanks for the radios many were avoided LEW
