Just a heads up that Canadian Pacific will run today on Turner Classic Movies at 3:45 PM Eastern. The film was released in 1949 and stars Randolph Scott and Jane Wyatt. The plot line reads that fur trappers opposed to the CP start an Indian rebellion. I'll bet the dastardly CN is in open support of the fur trappers.
The Station Agent is another one I like a bunch. It's often billed as a comedy, but the storyline goes deeper than that. Most of the train scenes were filmed along the NYS&W in northern NJ.
Continuing our railroad movie theme, I happened to surf into Von Ryan's Express (1965) just a few days ago. Ol' Blue Eyes is despised at the outset, but leads POWs to freedom from Italy and pays for it with his life.
