I saw a used MTH Hudson for sale and they were talking about it needing "reset and a new battery". That does that mean?

Were they PS1? Battery dies, program goes. I read somewhere a while back there were so many complaints about PS1 the Genius has a recovery disc or something to reset it.
If it was easy, the seller would have A) put a new battery in it and B) performed the "reset".

So, PS-2. Hadn't heard PS-2 needed to be reset.
Last #1 gauge MTH Hudson I had through here was a full gut.
Radio, battery, Phoenix. Solved the issues the guy was having.

PS 2.0's started out with 5V systems that tended to be a little persnickety and MTH did put out updates for them before they changed to the better 3v systems. Maybe the seller is referring to the unit having the update when he says reset?
