Meeting I suspect I'll be there before 6 for the festivities, hopefully earlier, just depends on how well I can stash my kids. Cheers Joe
Well there goes my Saturday surprise ! Way to go, Joe ! Pictures this weekend from the BAZ BoyZ modules !! Michael, you're at the K&S in Palo Alto? Joe won't get down to later in the afternoon so you're OK. I've moved since the last time you were here so I need to get you the new address. I'll try IM thru your profile.
I wish I could visit with you all out there again like I did a few years ago. Michael, you'll have a blast. Robert, next time you go visit your Grandpa, you need to take some photos. ;-) Randy
West Coast Randy, you need to stop running those stinky East Coast Roads and come over to the left coast and haul some real freight! ) Joe
haha! You will be paying a big premium to buy that paint scheme, just to strip it. If you wait till the following month, some easy paint scheme will be released, and it will cost $20 less per unit! Nobody buys NP, or UP paint just to strip it.
I hear you John, I can't wait another month either! Sometimes you just gotta have it now! Once you get it, it sits in a box for a few months, but when you gotta have it, you gotta have it!
Very nice loco! Congratulations to you Joe, and to all the Z scale department at MTL! Just one question, the same one than for the GP35. Did anyone here tried to fit a snowplow on them? Myself I'm thinking to insert a spare snowplow and coupler assembly coming from AZL SD70s (I've a 4-unit lashup, and I fit a snowplow only on both end units, so I've two spare samples). Even if the result is a loco that cannot run on tight curved radii I don't care as I'm building a small layout whose minimum radii will be 14" / 35cm, with an in-progress main layout whose curves will be 20"/50cm radius..... Dom
Robert, I have a nice set of FEC Z scale decals made by Micheal H. GN is a beutiful engine, but FEC is a better fit for what I run. You better then anyone know that if they release FEC first, you will be the first one to strip it. Dom, if the front of the GP9 is the same desing as the GP35, then the snowplow should fit. Bryan Z install a SD70 snowplow into a GP 35, and it looks great. All the detailing will have to wait till next month. I need to pre-order mine.
We ran some trains this weekend, including the GP9's, and they run excellent! The BAZ BoyZ had a BBQ Saturday night at Jeff's. We had some out of town guests. Lajos and Mike: Joe, Loren and Lajos:
Hey, that garage looks the same as it did when I was there last year! Or was it the year before already... time does fly.
...Looks fine! Thank you for the input John, I will order a few of them shortly for my 5 GP35s!.... Dom
I read on here that SP Black Windows were going to be made. What ever happened to this? I can't seem to find any and I want a bunch.
They are in production now, I'll let you all know when they will be released...soon, I know that. Joe
