This is a bad news/good news post.

The bad news is that the A&JB has come to the end of the line. We are buying a new home so I have begun to dismantle the layout so we can put the house on the market. The house we are buying is quite a bit smaller than our current home, and Florida homes don’t have basements, so I won’t have room for O gauge. ☹️

The good news is that there is room in the new house for a 3x10 foot N scale layout so I don’t have to give up model railroading, just change scales. I sold 3 engines and 2 sets of passenger cars to a friend so I’ll be able to see them running on his layout. They won’t be mine but I’ll still enjoy them occasionally.

I’m keeping 4 or 5 sets, engines with selected freight and passenger cars, that I’ll display on shelves and run under the Christmas tree so I’ll still be somewhat involved in O gauge.

I thoroughly enjoyed this layout so I’m sorry to see it go but I am looking forward to building a new layout in a different scale, plus both my wife and I are looking forward to the change in lifestyle.

Sorry to hear about the layout, really enjoyed the posts!

A new venture is exciting though, and looking forward to your new post on your N-scale empire!(y)

Thanks Kurt. I think this is the best layout I’ve ever built and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it for 6+ years. I’ll miss it but I am looking forward to the new house and returning to N scale.
